Miramar Cove, the $1 billion, 125-acre mixed-use community breaking ground at Miramar Parkway and Red Road, drew coverage from the South Florida Sun Sentinel as one of West Broward’s most significant new developments. The master plan centers on a swimmable 5.5-acre Blue Mar Basin that brings a coastal beach experience inland, anchoring a walkable community of nearly 3,000 homes, waterfront dining, and an entertainment district. As Sunbeam Properties & Sunbeam Development CEO Andy Ansin told the Sun Sentinel, the vision includes gondolas carrying guests between waterfront restaurants and shops, paired with synchronized water and music shows visible from outdoor dining patios.
The development will deliver 2,874 residential units, including approximately 200 townhomes, designed as modern, pet-friendly multifamily residences with direct access to five miles of interconnected walking trails and more than 40 acres of green space. These sit alongside 400,000 square feet of retail, dining, and entertainment space anchored by a 35,000-square-foot specialty grocer, 125,000 square feet of Class A office space, and an eight-story, 185-room hotel. Financed through internal family capital rather than traditional debt, Miramar Cove plans to begin delivering retail space in late 2027 ahead of its 2028 grand opening.
