Miramar Cove, a 125-acre lifestyle center at Miramar Parkway and Red Road near Florida’s Turnpike, was covered by the South Florida Business Journal as Sunbeam Development Corporation broke ground on its largest project to date. The development marks a major continuation of the Ansin family’s long-standing investment in Miramar, where they also built the adjacent Miramar Park of Commerce and where Channel 7 parent Sunbeam Television is building new headquarters and studios for WSVN.
As the Business Journal reports, the project is approved for 2,874 total residential units, 400,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space, 125,000 square feet of office space, and a 185-room hotel. Phase one is launching with 1,100 apartment units across three eight-story buildings alongside core retail. Designed as a regional lifestyle destination, this new Miramar development features a 5.5-acre translucent blue water cove by Blue Mar Basin to support waterfront dining, a beach club-themed residential building, 10 acres of public park space, and 25 acres of nature trails.
Led by Sunbeam Properties & Sunbeam Development CEO Andy Ansin, the company is funding the initial phase with internal capital rather than traditional debt, carrying forward a family business model established shortly after World War II. Developer Stiles is overseeing construction ahead of the targeted 2028 opening.
