Miramar Cove Breaks Ground on Massive Waterfront Mixed-Use Development

Miramar Cove, a 125-acre waterfront mixed-use development in West Broward, was covered by Traded as Sunbeam Development Corporation and developer Stiles officially broke ground. The master plan will deliver 2,874 residential units, 400,000 square feet of retail anchored by a 35,000-square-foot grocery store, 125,000 square feet of Class A office space, and a 185-room hotel, with a grand opening targeted for late 2028.

As Traded reports, the focal point is a 5.5-acre translucent blue water cove and entertainment district featuring specialized Blue Mar Basins® technology previously deployed at high-profile destinations including the Disney Springs at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Baha Mar Resort in The Bahamas, and Royal Caribbean’s Perfect Day at CocoCay. More than 40 acres of the property will be dedicated to open space, incorporating a private residents-only beach club, five miles of walking paths, and connections to 10 acres of green space at Founders Park and 25 acres featuring natural trails at The Estuary.

Situated adjacent to the Miramar Park of Commerce, an employment hub housing more than 15,000 employees, this new Miramar development is strategically positioned near Florida’s Turnpike to capitalize on South Florida’s continued population growth. The surrounding submarket encompasses nearly 477,000 residents with an average household income exceeding $109,000, positioning Miramar Cove to capture strong regional demand for walkable, amenity-rich live-work-play environments.
